Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is shaping up to be the most significant upgrade to its Ultra series in recent years. Rumored to launch globally in January 2026 (and likely in India around the same time), the device is expected to deliver standout improvements across the board.
Camera & Design Upgrades
The flagship is tipped to introduce a groundbreaking 200 MP Sony (or ISOCELL HP2+) primary sensor—a major leap in image quality, especially for low-light scenarios. The sensor will be joined by a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens, a 50 MP periscope telephoto with 5× optical zoom, and a 12 MP 3× telephoto sensor.
Design-wise, the S26 Ultra reportedly adopts a more refined rear layout with a cleaner island housing for the rear cameras, slimmer bezels, and a streamlined body that's thinner and lighter than the S25 Ultra.
Display, Battery & Charging
Expect a generous 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with reduced bezel thickness, brighter output (up to 3,000 nits), and improved anti-reflective coating for better visuals outdoors.
Battery capacity is likely to increase to 5,500 mAh with 65 W wired fast charging support, although some leaks suggest Samsung may retain a 5,000 mAh cell with charging improvements—opinions vary.
Performance & Software
Under the hood, the S26 Ultra is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (For Galaxy) processor or Exynos 2600, depending on region. All variants may offer at least 16 GB RAM with storage options up to 1 TB.
It’s anticipated to launch with Android 16 and new One UI 8, featuring expanded AI capabilities and possibly multiple AI assistants like ChatGPT or Perplexity preloaded.
Expected India Pricing
In India, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could be priced from ₹1,59,990 for the base model, with higher storage variants (512 GB, 1 TB) commanding a premium.
